A St. Bernard mascot who made his rokie deput in professional baseball in 1997 with the Avalanche. An energentic addition to the team, Mugsy descended from the passing Hale-Bopp comet that raced across the Roanoke Valley sky on April 4, 1997. Entertaining Avalanche fans with his dugout dancing and other stadium antics, Mugsy is also a fan favorite in the surrounding communities.

Mugsy and Misty met on a picturesque Spring day at Lewis-Gale Medical Center Field at Salem Memorial Baseball Stadium. He was entranced by her understanding beauty; she was impressed with his collection of baseballs, bats and - her favorite snack - bones. Mugsy and Misty tied the knot on 5/13/06 and honeymooned in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Big Mo was adopted by Mugsy and Misty after they found him on a missionary trip to spread news of the Salem Avalanche. Big Mo loves to eat - and he loves to play jokes on his adopted dad. Big Mo is one of the largest mascots on the east coast!

Mugsy, Misty and Big Mo are active participants in the Avalanche’s Community Programs. Appearing at local elementary schools, carnivals, parades, and numerous hospitals. Mugsy and Friends bring a smile to people of all ages.
